The people have spoken, and they wanted an anime OP or ED... but what if we gave you BOTH?
This has been featured as a restoration test on our YouTube channel before (albeit encoded and cropped), but to be honest with you guys, this proved to be far too difficult to restore properly due to its age, amount of dirt, and the horrible scratches.
So, if any of you want to take a crack at it maybe, here is the raw scan of the opening and ending of the American version of Astro Boy, scanned from an NBC broadcast print from the 1960s that we bought from an eBay seller that had over 30 eps of the show, and that WE DID NOT STEAL FROM ANYONE, KAHLI BALTO. Smh. Do you guys know about that stupid drama? It's a pretty entertaining story so let me know if you guys wanna hear about it lol. Anyways, yeah, we got two episodes of it on 16mm as a test run from that seller but found that it is not really worth getting more of them due to how... not amazing they look. It's to be expected for multigenerational copies like this, but it's at least nice to have some of it preserved in higher quality than before, I suppose.
So, on March 1, all Patrons in the Femchad tier will receive a DM with a link to this scan, and an email for Google Drive access, so please be on the lookout for that.
If anyone in a lower tier would like this scan too, feel free to upgrade to Femchad and I'll add you to it promptly.
Thank you for another good month! As usual the month will begin with some rambles, and hopefully we'll get some more stuff out as well.
