i think landlords like someone renting out their grandfather’s property that they don’t want to live on to some young couple who need a home is a fine example (i may be biased because this is what my parents do). but i think it’s bad when it comes to people who are ridiculously wealthy buying up a ton of properties and renting them out for crazy prices, and limiting the local housing options. good episode

2025-08-20 14:44:58 +0000 UTCMy current take on the ownership of land is that I am opposed to outright ownership of land because it makes a very very basic need that is finite into a product. But with the way we manage these products in society if a non-person entity exists to treat land like a product then they will eventually create a market where it isn't achievable for any person to live without renting that land, and then whenever the entity so chooses they can raise the rent to increase their profit to buy more land and make more people rent That is my very brief take, and I am not a high schooler and I don't use twitter but I am still an angsty teen for a little while longer. Also Love the pod!
