I used to be an Evangelical going to a megachurch and I loved that music. But eventually all the hypocrisy, judgmentalism, and constant manipulation for money turned me off. And all that was before they became a tool for right-wing extremists. Now the music and all reminders of that life make me gag.

And there is a beautiful symmetry around God also being flawed given he took the wrong brother out with a bolt of lightning at a church camp. If there is a god, they have a great sense of humour.
