2022-10-07 12:57:52 +0000 UTCIf it makes anyone feel better -- it is now illegal for pharma to set up those sorts of marketing parties with drug-sponsored toys for kids, etc. In fact, you won't even see drug names on pens, mugs, writing pads, etc., anymore when you go into a doctor's office. Those were banned in 2008. Many doctors' offices -- at least the ones associated with academic teaching centers -- now forbid visits by pharma reps. And reps can no longer promote any off-label use of drugs. I've been in continuing medical education (which is not marketing) since the late 1990s and have seen a lot of changes for the better. There are still abuses and greed of course . . . that's human nature, unfortunately.
