By far my favorite episode!

If you ever are looking for more swindled content, there's a whole heap of corruption and white collar crime schemes in china, it's kinda sad :( But yeah, if you google up formula smuggling, it's a huge grey market industry for chinese travelers, so much so that neighboring areas such as hong kong, korea, and australia put a limit on how much you can buy to prevent mass purchase and resale

My nipples were bleeding my baby wouldnt latch on and was starving, my midwife stuck to her guns reeling off her "Breast is best" mantra. I told her to either get her tots out and feed him or hand me a bittle of formula. Thankfully she gave the formula.

Emma Flavell

Thanks! I just don't want anyone to feel like it was an attack on those who choose to use formula.

Swindled

Don’t get me wrong. I love the podcast! Just a topic that strikes an emotion in me.

Jessica Hughes

Hi Jessica. As I said in the episode, formula feeding is a perfectly acceptable alternative to breast feeding for those of us who are able to afford it and lucky enough to live in places with access to clean water.

Swindled

My thought is the swindled always deals with difficult topics and we need to recognize that and be supportive (those of us who love it) to ensure it doesn't get watered down. In this case, it was less about the merits of breastfeeding and more about promoting a choice amongst certain groups of consumers who really only had one good choice.

Just have to say..formula feeding is not only for women who can’t produce milk. It’s a choice every woman has the right to make. Both of my kids were formula fed by choice and they are happy and healthy. I hate when women are made to feel bad when they don’t choose to breastfeed.

Jessica Hughes

I saw you caught some crap. I dont believe the woman who was upset actually listened to the episode. You never took a stance and said one was better than the other. Also formula is for those who cannot produce milk or not produce enough. This can be very hard and stressful on women, and I feel you were put on blast by her without her actually listening.

Sean Gleason

Thank you for this. I was the first mother-infant that I had seen breastfeeding and receiving multiple cases of free formula only strengthened my resolve. My amazing 15 yo won’t touch anything Nestle. Knowledge is better than good.

Jill C

Holy Shit is right! I had no clue it was this bad. Boycotting.

Stacy Allen

Well, now I'm glad I did not buy that Caramac earlier when I went to the shop. I knew they were bad, I didn't know they were that bad.

DiscoPig

Oh ya, this episode is going to make my blood boil! Nestle is scum.
