Some workflow changes and video schedueles :D

Hey lil update shmupdate. I plan to upload a video once a month on the first of the month from now on, be it second channel or main. Just one video in general. I have a short film (?) animation planned that will be uploaded by itself to the main channel, im also finishing a hd2 video thatll be done this week. Ill upload it here early when its done.

Okay art thingies time!

Ive changed how i make videos. In my old workflow, i would make my rough cut, edit all my clips, polish them until it was enjoyable to watch as is, and THEN at the end I would find what background music to use. This had a lot of problems.

When the music is picked last, clips are edited within a void, meaning to extenuate a part of a clip, a edit must be made since there are no other tools at my disposal. Secondly, clips cannot be paced with each other for fear of clashing with the background music in the future. All pacing must be done in the last day or two of my videos being made since that is when i would pick music. Lastly, all the edits have no set tone and tempo. Theyre simply whatever felt right for the clip in isolation. This means that to find the right music, it must be a perfect match to all the clips tempos, while also setting a tone that encapsulates all of the bits.

My new workflow is picking the music first, right after I finish the rough cut, and then edit the video front to back. This makes the music serve as the backbone for the video. All the clips tempos are set by the music, and as a side effect of this, many clips that would require edits in the past: dont anymore. This is because the music serves as impact for the punchlines, while still feeling just as punchy (if not more) than a dedicated edit would. Clips are edited to work with the music, not in spite of it. Very simply: the old workflow made more edits while the new workflow makes better videos.

who up disregarding they core principles of tempo and pacing for no particular reason for several years, even tho its they strongest suit. who up not editing to music, even though that is how 99% of professional editing is done

Im also setting myself deadlines again. I need a fire under my ass to work well, so from now on I plan to finish a second channel video once a month, within the first 7 days of the month. After that im not entirely sure how to set deadlines for main channel videos since some bits take a minute, while some take weeks. What i can accomplish in a week for those videos is super fluid so ill be experimenting to see what works.

Anyways im back home after a family trip, and you should see the hd2 video pretty soon. And if everything goes right, that short film should be uploaded on the first of june. Im gonna start working on the main tf2 video after i finish the short film too so thatll be fun. Okay bibibibi SCREAM SCREAM SCREAM SCREAM FEAR FRIGHT
