They also could have done the shooting bit with Tony at the end without introducing her. Just a 'who the f is that' kinda moment and they also would have had a bit of british mol set up and then start next season with the london back basically going back in time a little.

Amara's gift to Dean wasn't just his mother back. It was the chance for Dean to confront her with everything he had been repressing, by idolizing her and memorializing her his entire life. Dean needed to face his mother and be able to tell her the truth about what he felt, just like Amara needed to face Chuck, and thats why she brought him back

I gotta say, I love that Rowena and God ended up married with a beautiful little girl. That girl is going to be a force when she grows up lol. Personally, I loved season 12, although I get why people don't enjoy it as much. I like that we get it set up this episode, that it kinda comes out of left field because really, it feels very much like Winchester luck, to have one more thing on top of another. And its been a while since we have had human enemies to deal with, like Gordon, or Walt and Roy. I find it refreshing to have this new type of threat developing. As for this finale, I personally love the development we see from Sam and Dean. Sam's drive to keep fighting, keep hunting, keeping the morale up even when everyone starts to give up. And Dean... Dean's final speech to Amara is phenomenal. So much character growth, and development and maturity is on display. This is not the Dean we met in season 1, or the Dean who came back from Hell, or who took on the Mark, even. Dean's changed, and grown, and we really get to see Sam's influence on Dean here, the way Dean has learned from his brother, and it brings together the whole theme of season 11, which, to me, has always been the reunifying of the brothers, restoring their balance as a team, a partnership, and it culminates here... where both brothers demonstrate and reflect what they have learned from each other Also, one thing I find really interesting... Mary's grave is in the same graveyard as the zombie that they killed back in season 2, Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things. That entire episode was about resurrections, and the consequences of bringing someone back from the dead. How they don't always come back the way we expect. Not only were they foreshadowing Mary's return, but they were also foreshadowing that Mary wouldn't be who we expect her to be
