This month I'm answering a question about my approach to paneling comics and also a couple of small questions about adding a tint to the line art and my brush settings!
The key step in paneling a comic is creating layouts. I always start with very simple and small (!) layouts to place the characters and plan the placement of their speech bubbles. When you work small, it's easier to see how well the page can be read, and you can plan elements that will direct the reader's eyes - lighting, the directiong where a character looks, body movement etc. There're also some tricks that can ake reading easier, like keeping characters on their sides of the panel during dialogue scenes.
