The Twisted & The Twilight Update Progress Info!

Hello Everyone, Team Radious here!

Warhammer II fans worldwide are rejoicing as CA is releasing The Twisted & The Twilight DLC tomorrow, alongside big patch and FLC.

However, this means, that as of tomorrow, our Warhammer II mod is officially under reconstruction. It is currently not compatible with this most recent update and will cause crashes. We are working tirelessly to fix everything and make it interact seamlessly with all the new features, but it will require countless hours of work. We need to ensure that our content has its usual high level of polish and that everything is done to the highest standard. Rest assured that we will do everything we can to deliver the update to you as soon as possible, but we are unsure as to when we are going to be finished so you will have to unfortunately hang tight for now.

Christmas are coming, but we will do our best to have update for you before it!

With all of that in mind, we have a plea to make. The scope of the DLC and patch is extensive and requires almost a complete rewrite of many elements of our collection. Hundreds of hours of work are ahead of us, which we need to sacrifice from our private time, often after a full day at work or university. As such, we humbly ask you to consider becoming our Patron, giving us the much-needed boost. Even the smallest gesture helps us get a better grip on our lives and by extension on our work.

Update Info 0  - 02.12.2020:  Work starts tomorrow evening when DLC is released and i am back home from my job! After waching and reading many articles and videos base overview of all new content was done, around "million" changes which need to be done are marked and now only to do it all! Many old and existing stuff got changed, so we will have to adapt all that to function properly once again. 

Update Info 1  - 03.12.2020:  Work started today we have first info to share with you! Now the very slow process starts with adding all new files into the mod, this alone will take dozens of hours to do. Our tools are updated and several first tables are already fully updated. Around 3% of all is done!

Update Info 2  - 04.12.2020:  First very long night and 7 hours of fixing and updating gone! Since almost every part of the mod requires complete rework and rebuild i decided once again to use same approach as with last 3 updates. I fix and update tables alphabetically one by one. Since there is only  like 5% of them which do not require any updates or changes this will ensure i wont miss anything and each change is properly updated and  edited. Today i focused on all buildings, building effects, garrisons and  character traits - all  new buildings are now fully included, all their  effects properly updated  (new can be added after testing/balancing),  Buildings also got  rebalanced costs. There were many changes related to Wood Elves, Skaven and also High Elves. Around 7% of all is done!

Update Info 3  - 04.12.2020:  Evening here and we have more info to share with you! Today i focused on tables related to AI, unit recruitment and building  requirements. AI recruitment system fully updated with new units which  are integrated  between already existing units based on their tier and  quality. Wood Elves and Skaven have plenty changes in these areas with new and different building tiers so this will be still subject of change once real testing will start. Now to the AI - all new AI profiles are now fully implemented, CA changed once again many tables, but not sure if to better this time, they made already passive vanilla AI even more passive with changes like ignore razed towns for 20 turns! All these silly passive changes will be replaced by completely new ones active AI profiles. Around 12% of all is done!

Update Info 4  - 05.12.2020:  Good morning everyone! We have another long night behind us and more info to share! Update process is sofar steady but very slow due to so many changes to the game even on places where would nobody expected them, so everything must be carefully and manually checked. During night i focused on tables related to units. This means any core changes  to animations, sets, entities were all updated to latest game version. I  also added all new units and characters into the mod. All these units  received complete rework and rebalance, ror units own unique weapons, many different attributes and complete stats and cost changes to  perfectly fit into main core Radious gameplay as you know it (further  balancing changes will be done also based on your feedback once the   update is out). All new weapons and projectiles were also completely rebalanced and included with additions of our own new ones to make wider differences between each unit.

Now starting to work on all new abilities, spells and skills. Most of  these tables also require complete rework due to new collums and wider changes in the tables. Around 20% of all is done!

Update Info 5  - 05.12.2020:  Good evening. Second saturday info is here! Part 1 is now almost fully updated this means more heavy db tables are now completed and fully updated,  Part 2 has less of these but on other hand it contains all script files  which have to be completely rewritten once again - looking at you Chaos Invasion! All new abilities are now fully updated and rebalanced, same as skills and new spells. Projectile calculations for ignoring trees are also finished and all custom units updated with correct values to them. Many additional changes, updated various UI files and much more. During night is plan to finalise Part 1. Around 30% of all is done!

Update Info 6  - 06.12.2020:  Good Morning Everyone! Another long night is behind us and we are once again bit closer to fully updated mods for you! Part 1 is now fully updated. Last several hours i put into updating all UI files our mods are using, like custom loading screens, menus, unique faction UI and other stuff. Further balancing for various units was  also done to ensure they all fit nicely. Since part 2 is heavily focused on our custom units next work will be  primary about them - updating all needed files to latest version, enabling units in new factions, updating recruitment systems for dozens  of units.  Started also first rewrite of all our edited scripts  including Chaos Invasions. Around 38% of all is done!

Update Info 7  - 06.12.2020:  Good evening! More news to share. Finally today i have managed to make the mod finally start and work again! Had to fix many critical changes to prevent evil crashes but seems all is launching properly now! Work is far from done yet, but we are once again closer to it. Mod is currently under heavy internal testing phase and we are fixing, changing and balancing one thing after another! If all will go well, we could have public beta for you sometime during the week - tuesday evening or wednesday, we will see yet how well will be everything going. Full release i would love to have for all of you during next weekend, but no promises yet, during week my modding time will be limited due to my work so i will have time only during nights! Around 48% of all is done!

Update Info 8  - 07.12.2020:  Good morning! Another night gone and me writing this now at 6am after i just arrived to my work since weekend is over. Work will continue this evening once i am back home and when i will be free on my wifes demands. :-) During night i fixed plenty bugs and issues CA introduced in newest update, did further rebalancing, tuned recruitment of HE, SKA and WE and also updated garrisons for Drycha. A lot work done already! Around 55% of all is done!

Update Info 9  - 07.12.2020:  Good evening! Smaller progress info today cause most of the day i was at my work and could get to this only few hours ago, but i do plan to work during night bit more to finish few other things which i already started. Battles and campaigns load fine! Now i need to focus on all new content dlc brought and this will require many additional hours to ensure all is  working properly and is balanced aswell. Most scripts are also already updated, only few left to do now and then proper heavy testing. All this must be done before it goes live so you wont get some unfinished turd! Work on all our official submods is also going well and updates for them should be ready at the same time as main mod! Around 62% of all is done!

Update Info 10  - 08.12.2020:  Good morning! Once again 6am and i am writing this night report from my office where i just arrived. During night several things got finalised, all scripts should be fully rewritten and updated. Many balancing changes to new Skaven and Wood Elven features, their abilities and much more. Once i am back home i will focus on some more testing and finishing AI changes and updating all UI files properly. Around 67% of all is done!

Update Info 11  - 08.12.2020:  Good evening! Work is going very well and we are getting closer to final stage now. Many additional balance changes has been done, new traits and abilities received balance touch, many new custom and vanilla unit cards are now fully implemented. Only few larger submods left to update, which should be done in coming days. Stability seems sofar great, no crashes were spotted in any of the campaigns and numerous battles. Work will continue tomorrow afternoon, after 5 sleepless nights i need some rest for final push + i am afraid some ugly cold jumped on me aswell and you know how hard cold can be for a man! Around 75% of all is done!

Update Info 12  - 09.12.2020:  Good evening! Wednesday here and with it our next update info for you! We are almost  there! Last 7 days were incredible busy but we are almost ready to  release updated version for all of you! We did some heavy testing to  ensure its completely crash free, finalising updating our official submods and tomorrow we will do some final testing and tweaks to several remaining things. I will also try to write complete changelog and once its done it will be available to all our Patrons to check it first of what is coming. Weekend release is very real and close! Around 85% of all is done!

Update Info 13  - 10.12.2020:  Good evening! Thursday report is here! We are almost finished, just updating and finishing our big submods right now, mainly our Wood Elves overhaul submod which requires a lot rework and testing. Tomorrow evening we will post complete changelog for all our Patrons and during saturday evening if nothing ugly appears we should be releasing updates to everything! Final testing and tweaks are planned for tomorrow and these last 7 incredibly difficult and long days will be behind us! Around 92% of all is done!

Update Info 14  - 11.12.2020:  This is our last blog update! Which means we are finished with updating and release is on the way! We had incredible hard working 9 days to deliver you this update before Christmas and i am honestly glad i managed to do it. Changelog will be shortly posted in our patrons channel (our discord server) and tomorrow update + notes will go live for everyone + updates of all our submods. Expect release tomorrow sometime between 17-18PM CET.  Around 98% of all is done!
