And Jack,

BunkerGirl

At 1:09:32 from the transcript: And people are jockeying for position, Raphael, Cass, Crowley. And does Crowley have a direct opposition other than Lucifer Loyalist? Is there any one person that is going for the throne? About Crowley power grabbing hell throne to become the King of Hell, he really is not. In the S12 flashback episode Stuck in the Middle with You, we will find out that hell was given to him because the next Prince of Hell in line, Ramiel, wants to live as a nobody. So grabbing the souls for powers is actually, if I recall correctly, only because Raphael wants the apocalypse 2.0 to happen, which will put him Crowley, a demon, in a precarious position all over again. It so happens that the souls he wants to grab to power up, are actually monsters' souls from Purgatory, not human souls. The souls he got from making deals are his since those are going to hell when their time comes.

You are correct that later we get a different actor to play Gavin. Steven Williams is just amazing as Rufus. The writers are just great for him and Bobby's dynamic.

not sure if this was mentioned, but when you were asking if Bobby was soulless, or affected, the answer is no. When you make a deal, your soul stays in your body until the hellhounds come to drag it to Hell. Sam is the only main character who ever experiences soullessness, except arguably Cas since angels dont have a soul to begin with

Elisia

Bobby is in the same situation as Dean season 3.

Jensen's directing debut - he did good

YES! I digress, the last comment I made was how great this season is on rewatches because you can appreciate how everything unfolds. This episode is definitely a top contender for the season. Everyone stepped up their game in so many ways to reboot the series and keep it going. There is so much happening in the show with the parallels and the layers and yes...the messiness of it all. SPN's sweet spot. It's pretty great stuff. I'm really bummed we are missing out on the next episode. It's so creepy and unsettling with some intense undertones. Jensen really knocks it out of the park with his acting and sells it well. It's another one that is a stand out for me on second, third and fourth watch. I also know there was a lot of messiness happening BTS with the show later on in the season too, so that's part of what made the execution not as strong as it could be. That includes the reason they killed off so many of Sera's characters as a punishment. Or at least that's the rumor.

Vel

Crowley doesnt care about Gavin pre human blood. Its takes moving mountains to make demons change in this show. Even Meg took being hells most wanted, an angel and a lot of torture to fully get there.

Kyle

Yo, I can't tell you how hard i laughed when you paused and said "maybe he did intend to give it back" about Crowley 🤣🤣. Even better knowing you immediately even realized how that sounded. Love you shelley but no, Crowley lied. He's a liar and he lied lol and Crowley doesn't have Bobby's soul, he owns the contract to it though which means he'll get it fully in 10 years. Best comparison... Crowley is the bank/landlord/leech who owns Bobby's house. That's why Bobby isn't soulless like Sam. He's simply renting it now.
