I liked Season 5 more than 4 mostly because, as I have stated before: I felt the emotional pull more for S5, how emotionally connected, and how I felt resonated with the two main characters. And yes, imo S4, it peaked story-telling-wise, but I prefer S5's character-based growth storytelling more. Additionally, at first, I wasn't into the "Sam drinking demon blood" S4 plot as I was confused for the longest time since exorcism worked just as well (I posted about this issue before) until I reached my 'light-bulb moment' - the demon blood drinking reason was that he was aiming to upgrade his demon pulling power to eventually kill Lilith, and Alistair was just a bonus along the way. It was up until then that it only clicked for me but, yeah, the damage is already done, lol.
