Lord Variety Submod - Preview + Delay Announcement!

Hello Everyone, Team Radious here!

With the Potion of Speed update behind us, it is time to make a quick announcement about one of our other projects, the Lords Variety Submod. Unfortunately, due to the numerous Three Kingdoms updates, Potion of Speed update for Warhammer II and its associated DLC and FLC, as well as the incoming Mandate of Haven for 3K, we were unable to finish it on time and the release is being delayed to February. We are extremely sorry for this, but we do not want to release a half-finished product and we simply did not have enough time to work on it properly over the last month and a half.

To sweeten this sad announcement a bit, we’ve decided to shed a little bit more light on some of the incoming Lords for the factions which are most lacking in variety – Beastmen, Norsca and Dwarves. We also want your feedback on the role we envision for them in the game.

Beastmen

For Beastmen, we are working on two types of Lords – Doombulls and Great Bray Shamans

The Doombull will be an exceptional melee fighter with a penchant for applying debuffs to its enemies, including terror and decreased physical resistances. In a nutshell, you simply do not want to be in its way when it gets angry and neither does your army. Perfect for hitting your problem until it goes away.

Great Bray Shamans are going to serve a variety of roles in the Beastmen roster. Other than increasing the headache of your command choices, they will probably be the most ‘civil’ minded of the Beastmen Lords (if you could even call it yhat). While a little bit less reliable on the field of battle, they will provide a great amount of support on the campaign map, from increasing income to providing horde-wide buffs.

These two might also be some changes to the base game Beastmen Lords, to turn them into a bit more of army buffing support, with the frontline now being the domain of Doombulls.

Norsca

Norsca are currently scheduled to receive two new types of Lords to lead their armies – Shaman Warleaders and Fimir Nobles.

Great Shamans are supposed to fill in a niche in the currently heavily monster reliant Norsca army and turn it into more of a swiss-army knife. They can be turned to either more martial focused leaders, with bonuses to their magic and campaign bonuses for their armies; or more economy boosting, with additional post-battle income and bonuses to research.

Fimir Nobles are creatures of ancient legends in the lands of Norsca and we want their skills to reflect that. They will be mostly be revolving around rediscovering the Fimir people and can be turned to either ruthless warlords and raiders or walking tanks.

Similairly to the Beastmen, Norsca base Lords might be changed around a little bit, with additional bonuses being added to make them more effective at buffing their troops.

Dwarves

So far, there is only one Lord planned for the Dwarves – the Guildmaster.

Whilst the Runelords are the ‘mage lords’ of the Dwarves and Dwarf Lords are their vanilla flavour generals, the Guildmaster will specifically focus on providing buffs to Dwarven mechanical and ranged units, as well as providing support to the industrial side of the Dwarven Economy. Expect settlement bonuses and great overall worth of the Guildmasters, paid for in their overall combat flexibility.

Once again, we are sorry for having to delay, but we hope that this preview has made the wait a little bit easier. If you have any suggestions or feedback for our proposed vision. Feel free to engage with us on our social media.

More Lords will follow after release of our first build!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Team Radious!
