OMG. Haven't listened but saw a later model SunRay. Best idea Sun ever had but too little, too late for them. Initial models needed to be on an isolated network which was an issue in those days as *V*LANs were just becoming a thing. Later ones didn't need dedicated tracks and could mix with other traffic. Our office sysadmin (at Sun) used to walk around with his "Java Card" and plug in to a convenient SunRay and have his tunes come out of it when he was working on a thick client. Wherever you went, there you were. The plan (at least before our group was RIFed in late 2002) was to have SunRays everywhere and even your desk phone followed you to wherever you plugged in.
