The body that Sam salted and burned was Barry's. Barry killed himself at the school, not long after Sam and Dean left. That was what Sam and Dean found out when they were looking into deaths that could be the ghost. I've never much cared for this episode. I usually like flashbacks, though.

2024-06-16 22:22:22 +0000 UTCI always assumed Sam ended up as a go-to resource for other hunters, probably while working as a professor. I think an interesting spin off would be following Sam's son, Dean, on his journey becoming a hunter. I imagine that the father-son dynamic would be almost reversed from John and Sam: maybe Sam would be very against Dean hunting but Dean is dead-set on it. I'd love for him to have a sister too and that sibling dynamic could continue as well. It'd be a cool way to continue the show, and who knows, maybe they gotta call up their ghost uncle for help with something... Maybe he gets brought back again for real (season 1 finale?) It's Supernatural, anything could happen haha. Just gotta get a better wig for Sam :)

2024-06-15 19:55:46 +0000 UTCThere is a bit of foreshadowing of Sam's fate this season. Dirk was a bully but he became what he is because of his tragic home life. Sam was starting to become the bully after being around Dirk and his anger is what triggered him. This is foreshadowing Sam fighting demons then becoming one temporarily because of his anger. Highschool was a metaphor for hell and in the end Sam thrived after becoming the bully while Dean felt like he didn't belong there.
