Season 2 is in my top three (with season 4 and 5) and I think the main reason is that all the MOW episodes are woven into the main story so well so it feels so cohesive. The Mark of Cain story line is my favourite story arc but the season is behind Season 2 because of a few bad MOW episodes which spoilt the flow. The best seasons are the ones that have MOW stories that do not feel like filler.
