I could be wrong, but I thought initially that Gabriel DID want the apocalypse to happen, he wasn’t against it. In Changing Channels, that was his whole point of throwing Sam and Dean into tv land…. He kept telling them they had to “play their roles that destiny demanded of them.” With Dean as Michael and Sam as Lucifer. He also says that’s why he’s always taken an interest in the boys, because they all knew ever since the lights went on in heaven that it all was going to end with those two. I don’t think he changed his mind about it happening until Dean really told him off in that episode about him not wanting to stand up to his family.
My favorite line has to be “You’re too precious for this world.” 😂😂😂 (or “blah blah blah blah blah.”😂😂😂
I think this is a hybrid with Gabriel winning.
I love that Supernatural took the chance with this kind of funny episode because I think it really opened the door for all the fun stuff they did later.🙂

Shelley your thoughts were really interesting thinking about why Gabe was doing the whole Trickster gig (now that we know he is an archangel) and interesting especially to look at why he liked to play lethal tricks. I think he could be disillusioned about the oncoming apocalypse, but I think he also doesn’t really value individual human life. We often see the angels disregard individual human life in favour of a greater goal, and while I think Gabriel has more interest in humanity overall I think he still doesn’t value individual people. I think like with Cas, it’s his ongoing association with the Winchester’s that turns a theoretical interest in humanity, into actual consideration for people in their own right. So at this point I’m not surprised that even if he doesn’t want humanity to end he doesn’t blink over killing the ones he feels are less worthwhile. It’s really interesting to think about retrospectively 😄👍🏻
You have some good episodes coming up, looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks for these great reactions 😄

I first watched this at uni. We misheard the name of the hall the first death took place as 'Croft Hall' which was our hall in first year and my friends almost freaked out at it lol
