I'm pretty sure it's because of the Dean and little boy's parts. How we see a part of Dean that gives a glimpse of who he really is, beneath all the bravado.

2023-12-06 17:40:53 +0000 UTCOne of my favourite pieces of dialogue of the entire series (from Wendigo): "Oh come on, wendigos are in the Minnesota woods or, or northern Michigan. I've never even heard of one this far west." Effortless, brilliant backstory and world-building in two lines. Perfection. Also: Something Wicked is one of my favourite episodes of the season. Up there with Faith, Skin, Home and the Pilot.
