Just thinking while listening. What about a sprint where the grid is reverse of the driver's championship standings. No one would sabotage those for the sprint race, it preserves FP2, and the unique Feature Race qualifying... Not to mention, it could certainly bring the midfield points closer, and possibly the entire pack!
