Very enjoyable reaction, also a huge intro, and I can't wait for the next episode. Some insights: - The ship is gone at the end, right before the "to be continued" is shown. - The ship itself brought the dead back to life. Maybe it's an entirely different alien race, or perhaps it's from the colonists indeed and ties into the bigger picture? Things to ponder. - Scully's vision of the African man in the car says "some truths are not for you." - Mulder asks for Kritschgau not because he wants to convince him of psychic abilities, but to convince him that the cause is alien-related, since Kritschgau is a disbeliever in aliens and even "convinced" Mulder at one point (Gethsemane/Redux/Redux II). - Regarding the title, "The Sixth Extinction" is actually mentioned in a specific context in the previous episode (Biogenesis) during Scully's opening monologue, but it's easy to miss. Anyways, very eager to see the continuation. Cheers!
