This episode always goes by quicker than most, to me. It's fun and cute (the Cas/Sam part at least), but there's not much substance to it. However, it is a nice palate cleanser after dealing with the whole Michael thing. I don't think can grow a soul. Sam wasn't able to after more than a year with none, so there shouldn't be a way for Jack to. Besides he's more interesting without the soul. Cas doesn't have a soul either, but he's got a crack in his chasis, I believe it was said at one point. And he's lived among the humans for so long that he knows what emotions are.
