Appreciate the feedback, Geoff. A couple of things worth noting: our guys were filming their discussion in the hours after the race, still in the paddock before the dust has settled. Jolyon's (always) excellent analysis took place in a studio 1-2 days after the fact, and with the benefit of all the footage he could possibly want, and a touch screen to go into it deeper. Sadly we are not allowed to use that footage! F1 also have access to more granular, more accurate data traces than we are able to access.

I think Jolyon Palmer's coverage of the incident was much more insightful and provided better context. I'm very disappointed that this incident wasn't compared with Verstappen hitting Russell in Barcelona - they got the same penalty. Pretty poor not to call out how absurd that is, if it's bound to the racing rules then call them out. Massive improvement opportunity here for The Race.

Not saying one is right and the other wrong (but I do WANT Piastri to be right). It'd be good to see Verstappen's brake pressures on those 2 laps, and whether the stewards looked at that data too. Also, what was Max doing with his hands at the start of Hangar Straight?

Survival GP

If roles were reversed max wouldn't have gotten a penalty. They would've given Oscar 5 seconds for overtaking max. They just wanted a British driver winning the British race. No worries. You idiots just unleashed the beast in Piastri. Norris won't win another race unless he's handed it again.

Im a little surprised with Oscar's overal attitude towards this and that of some of the commentators. You cant compare this situation apples to apples with what happened in Canada. I dont agree with Oscar overly slowling the car but its made even more dangerous by the conditions. Just look at how Antonelli's car just seemingly appears out of nowhere when Hadjar hit him. The penalty was well deserved and I think a bit less of oscar for asking the team to have lando switch with him so they could fight it out on track

Glad to hear the perspective that maybe Oscar got away with one on the first restart. I expected to side with Oscar a bit more when I saw the telemetry comparison, but in the replay I saw Max and Lando get backed up in a way that just probably isn't appropriate in these conditions. It was similar to the second restart, just that it didn't result in anyone overtaking. Oscar will take a lesson away for sure.

Seconded. I knew Jon of old Autosport so I was very happy when he joined the team.

Been long enough now I think I can say with confidence what a fantastic addition to the team Jon Noble has been. Don't follow a lot of motorsport outlets but seemed like a bit of a coup when he came on board given his experience, and he's proved absolutely fantastic.
