I’m going next Friday at the IMAX in London. Have reservations but looking forward to it after Edd’s review

I was lucky enough to see a preview and think Ed really nails the review. Overall I came away disappointed. As an avid F1 fan I felt there were just too many ridiculous story lines, but if you watch it through the optics of making a Hollywood blockbuster you can forgive it a little bit. I’m sure US fighter pilots watch Top Gun and think it is ridiculous. The movie is a bit long, but agree 100% that it is made for the cinema and defo IMAX if you want the full experience. The marriage of fiction and reality is intriguing and Martin Donnelly scenes are harrowing. I’m glad they got his permission. Lots of product placement, but that’s just one of those things. Go watch it with an open mind for pure entertainment and you’ll probably have a good time. Go as a die hard F1 fan expecting a true representation of F1 and you’ll be frustrated.
