Ferrari is second in the constructors. The real issue is the unrealistic expectations placed on Ferrari by the Italian media. There’s an element of manifest destiny within the perceptions of Ferrari that ceased to be true some time in the 1960s. Just because Ferrari say “Fred was hired to win championships” that doesn’t make it prophetic nor possible within a few seasons. I could hire my neighbours dog to help get me elected as FIA president but that doesn’t make it a reasonable expectation, it makes me delusional. Like elements of the Italian media.

Elkann won’t take the blame even though it’s basically his pigeon. They don’t back Fred and don’t give him a stake because they want someone to blame. Power crazed Italian logic.

That being if Ferrari does not deliver on the 2026 car, then Vasseur will be fired. Maybe middle of the year or at the end. As you said, there is no smoke without fire.
