Despite her faults, I adore Mrs. Hughes! The way she ripped into Mr. Greene was epic! And I love the interaction between Violet and Isobel! Isobel has always been the kindest and most caring character on the show. She finally wore down the Dowager. =)

2023-03-06 01:58:38 +0000 UTCI have to salute the actor who plays Mr.Green. He just makes my skin crawl. If Mrs. Hughes was going to tell Anna's secret to anyone. Bates and Lady Mary are the two who can be trusted with it. And she was kind of desperate each time she told the secret. In each case, not telling would have meant added unhappiness for Anna. Poor Edith. It's such an impossible situation. It looked like a decent set-up at the abortionist's office but I can't blame her at all for not going through with it. It's a scary thing even if you're not risking death and catastrophic scandal. So glad she has Rosamunde in her corner. Mary and Mr. Blake have excellent chemistry and their pig adventure was hilarious. ROSE, I love you but the world is so much more complicated and dangerous than you will acknowledge! And LOL, you go ahead and call her Lady Isobel! She deserves it as much as any of them even if it's not technically correct. She and Lady Grantham are just a delight to watch, every time they're onscreen together.
