It's amazing how good this season was and it's not their best season!

Not sure what I have done/said to deserve that "meh", seeing as season one remains in my top tier of AoS seasons. But whatever. You do you.

And Trip goes undercover as General Jones - a nod to his grandfather, Howling Commando Gabriel "Gabe" Jones from Captain America: The First Avenger.

This is what the writers/executive producers wanted to AoS to be from the start, but were blocked from making it so by the ABC network, who wanted what we got in season one - a family-friendly action adventure show set in the MCU. From season two onward AoS would move into a later time slot and, as a result, would increasingly become darker and more mature in its storyelling.

I had no idea about Simmonβs outfit. That is some cool attention to detail!

Some fun facts. Fake Simmons is wearing the same outfit as Simmons in 1x6 the episode Fitz realized Simmons was more important to him then he realized.
Kreel is also the person who fought daredevil's dad
May saying she would stay and help was a big clue that Fitz was not ok and Simmons was not there to do it.

βCome on girl, you know I look goodβ - one of my favourite Trip lines, the way he says it is glorious!
I think this is a strong season opener. To me it establishes a much more confident show, introducing and intercutting a number of new characters, and different plot threads. I canβt wait to see your reaction to some of the developments of them.
The most compelling one (for me) is definitely Fitzβs brain damage. I think the actor does a really great job of portraying it. And that twist at the end! This show is so good at them, even βsmallerβ ones within individual episodes. It was probably the plot thread which initially particularly gripped me when first watching season 2.
Love your reaction, canβt wait for more!
