Oh I don't know. Back when this first aired people said stuff like "Surely everyone would see through this level of media bias?" Apparently not....

2023-01-18 12:01:06 +0000 UTCOne of my favourite episodes, not least for all the little touches like people mugging for the camera in background. It's interesting that your thought last week was that it was Earth trying to discredit Sheridan. Although it wasn't, as we also saw, Earth were quite happy to hang him out to dry. Add to this episode and there's a sense that many in government would like B5 to fail. Maybe not Sheridan directly - then thought they were getting a "hard-nosed jarhead", remember. But the more Sheridan is friendly rather than antagonistic to aliens, maybe he will be seen as a less suitable candidate.

But one that has lost some of its satirical bite now that we have cable "news" channels (CNN, RT, Fox News, Newsmax, OAN, etc.) that pump out this kind of thing without a hint of irony but a big dollop of cynicism.
