Cast your mind back to 1x06 "FZZT" and the scene at the end where Ward reveals to Simmons that he was aware of her and Fitz's impression of him, you know the "I'm Agent Grant Ward..." thing. At the time we all thought it was a wee bit cute, a wee bit charming, he's in on the secret. But, now knowing all that we know, we can now see it as Ward mocking them. He fooled them all. They thought he was a good guy. OK, a bit stiff, but a good guy all the same. Little did they know that, if ordered to by Hydra, he would have killed them all in a heartbeat.

2023-01-15 12:41:01 +0000 UTCSo remember back in 1x10 Coulson told ward about the woman he was dating before he died. Then Raina in 1x11 mentioned her and Coulson said how could she know about that. We now know ward told Garrett about her and they used that info to try and break Coulson.
