Great article on the F1 racing guidelines for passing on the inside and how they played out in Saudi Arabia. It would be great if you could publish another article (or cover on one of the podcasts) the racing guideline rules for passing on the outside as well. What are the rules? Have there been changes from last year like there were for passing on the inside? How about for chicanes and multi-corner complexes - is everything judged based on who earns the right to the first corner in the complex? If not how are they judged?

Oscar has made some great passes over the last couple of years. The pass on Charles to ultimately win last year’s Baku GP. The pass he put on Lando at Monza. The pass on Lewis at this year’s AGP, and the pass on Lewis last weekend in Saudi Arabia. Also his robust pass on Max into the first corner at Saudi. I can’t recall a pass for position that Oscar hasn’t achieved cleanly. Lando, on the other hand, seems to muddle about with passing opportunities. Last year with Max into Austria, Max in Austin, last weekend with Lewis in Saudi with his DRS struggles. Seems clear that Oscar has great race craft, whereas Lando struggles in the heat of the moment. Lando’s speed isn’t in question. But his race craft is. What’s your thoughts? Cheers.
