Being in solitary for two months (not six weeks) with no sunlight (the thing on the wall looked like a Artificial sun light) and not being able to see or hear each other (they were separated by another cell so they couldn’t even talk to each other), only hearing another voice 3 times a day saying chow time with absolutely nothing to do but lay down and work out and go to the bathroom. Especially with people like sam and dean, the nightmares and the monsters in their head, sitting with that for two months must be insane. As someone who’s been through things like sam and dean, i don’t think I would have made it to two months.

Dean

I am so sure everyone loved that line, and it was so hot too

"We're not trapped out here with you, you're trapped out here with us." One of the best damn badass lines of the entire series.

Adam Fergus (Mick Davies) and David Haydn-Jones (Ketch) have some of the most hilarious panels at Cons. The chemistry between the two is just as good as Jared & Jensen's. Mick is actually not so bad. He's just trying to make friends and help the Hunter's in the US out. Of course, he doesn't understand that the BMoL ways don't work for US Hunters, but at least he's trying to do it diplomatically.

I think Dean would've sacrificed himself over Sam. BTW, they were in Solitary for two months. When Mary & Cas met it was six weeks. By the time Sam & Dean 'died', it was two months.

Same, same, same! I love when they get to be badasses.

I heard the boys answer this at a con once. I can’t remember which one. Basically, I think, they played it as both brothers were planning to be the one to sacrifice themselves.

Sarai

Was Ruby 😉

Not an overshare, imo. I'm going to borrow a line from Shelley's reaction: "It makes sense that that's how we got here." 😉

love this episode. the boys kicking ass, cas and mary interactions, a billie appearance, cosmic consequences - a very supernatural episode. 😂☺️ can't WAIT for your react to the next few eps!

p.s. As far as who would've been the one to be reaped by Billie, I read Dean's face as saying he was planning on it being him -- par for the course -- but I'm *sure* they would've fought about it. I didn't get as clear a view of Sam's face.

Love this episode. Sam and Dean are both hot and badass here. I love when we get to see them communicate silently, and being so smart and capable. To me it makes sense they would see isolation and confinement as being worse than things they’ve suffered. They are used to things like fighting and even torture, but being bored and alone, without even each other, is a whole other thing. Finally, I don’t like Mary even listening to the BMOL pitch when they tortured Sam and were going to do the same to Dean.

Sarai

Not that it matters, but it was two months, not 6 weeks. 😌 Six weeks was the first verbal time check; then Mary goes a'hunting vamps and we get a later time verbal time check of two months. I love this episode. The tension, the sheer *humanity* of it (meaning microcosmic vulnerability of it), the unbearable torture of nothingness to emphasize the slow burn... and honestly, as a proven torture technique, it's an interesting and daring choice by Show to have this be what *would* break the Winchesters… Dean and Sam have been physically tortured many times, yet there are still stakes! Side notes: It could be hard to imagine that isolation is what would break the Winchesters, but, because of this episode's thought experiment, I did a very little research and will share this – There is a bill making its way through Congress to limit solitary confinement to no more than 15 consecutive days or for no more than 20 days in a 60-day period. Numerous studies have documented the harmful psychological effects of long-term solitary confinement, which can produce debilitating symptoms, such as: • Visual and auditory hallucinations • Hypersensitivity to noise and touch • Insomnia and paranoia • Uncontrollable feelings of rage and fear • Distortions of time and perception • Increased risk of suicide • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) And a fun fact! After years of human rights advocacy campaigns, my home state is now already barring isolation for more than 15 consecutive days.

first of all how dare Mary yell at cas for "leaving" Sam & dean, he was doing what he was told & he already blames himself enough as it is! Okay now that my cas protectiveness is out there, i get it was projection and that she was actually yelling at herself for leaving them but poor cas can't catch a break! His self-esteem is forever in a down spiral, it's very tough to see, the way he counted the weeks, days & hours without Sam and dean 😢, the way he chocked up saying you mean too much to me 😭, i can't believe Crowley said sorry, can't help, like what? Last episode he literally got into the place where the president was staying and got Kelly, i don't buy that Crowley can't find where Sam & dean are & teleport them out of there, he has connections everywhere! And omg yes! A location spell was my first thought too when I watched the episode! It was very weird how Mary disregarded Crowley and Rowena as potential solutions considering how desperate they were but surely the man of letters library in the bunker has a locating spell? Those usually require a relative's blood and Mary is right there! I think meg even did a locating spell before without any blood, a map completely burned except for the place where the person was, or maybe it was ruby, can't remember, Anyway, such a bummer losing Billie for shock value, she was so cool, next episode is one of my absolute favorites in the entire show so can't wait!

Hasnaa

First Blood is a nod to Rambo and the whole being hunted through the forest and picking off the bad guys one by one 😄 i just love the sheer bamfness of the boys in this episode 😁

MidnightSilver

Love this episode so much.

BexFangirl

just to over share I definitely have a competency kink! "What we have here is a failure to communicate......" Phew!

Trying to assassinate the president is a buff the level of them caring about your prisoners rights. The reason why the feds didn’t have dogs is because the show didn’t want to show Sam and dean hurting dogs because that’s what they would’ve had to do haha. The show really emphasizes just how bad ass Sam and dean are when they are fighting humans and not all powerful beings that can throw them around with the flick of the wrist. Even trained feds with assault rifles basically posed no threat to them.

Kyle

Even tho they should be honored no matter what

EddieSpice69

Apparently "Prisoners Rights" means nothing when you supposedly try to Kill the President 🤷🏻‍♂️
