We drew that 11 years ago and I remember distinctly feeling like it looked crummy at the time (I even lament it in the comments section). But it's super popular with over a hundred favorites.
Welllll, Martin re-did this comic with better framing, a better Dialga, better backgrounds, ect, and it just looks amazing. ^^ I dropped everything to add Dawn to the page and it just pops so, SO much.
We really tried to skew as close to the game's images as possible; Dialga and the first two panels of Dawn and Roserade are traced directly from their sprites, and we adjusted our art style in the following panels so they looked more like the games and less like our own.
This was a really fruitful experiment and we absolutely love how it came out. ^^ It'll be submitted to Deviantart when the remakes are released.
