Scott reacts to Red Bull's latest driver announcements
Added 2025-03-27 14:00:39 +0000 UTCIn-car Insights returns! But this time nobody is travelling to or from a grand prix. Instead, join Scott Mitchell-Malm on a drive through the Swedish countryside to hear his thoughts on Red Bull making the Liam Lawson/Yuki Tsunoda swap official.
Also featuring assistance from Scott's wife Sara, and cameos from his son Oskar!

2025-04-01 02:49:06 +0000 UTCThis was so fun! Great questions from Sara 😄 Love Oscar ❤️

2025-03-29 02:17:20 +0000 UTCI loved this! The Race community are supporters of Formula 1 but maybe bigger supporters of team Mitchell-Malm

2025-03-28 19:33:40 +0000 UTCThis was a brilliant listen we need Sarah's opinions on more of this seasons moments and of course Oskars. What a lovely family you all are

2025-03-28 06:49:04 +0000 UTCIs Liam a victim of rb politics, Horner let's Liam in and fail to make Marko look bad. Hence the lack of a tpc program and now Horner saying they need to do all they can to support him when it's too late
Joseph Thackwell
2025-03-28 00:58:09 +0000 UTCWell I was going to ask was that a beat box mash-up of one verse ‘Old McDonald had a Farm’ followed by a verse of ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb’ …!! Clearly I’m rusty on my nursery rhymes!! LOOOOVED Oskar’s input!!
Lane
2025-03-28 00:49:18 +0000 UTCAgreed. I’ve listened to a few longform interviews with Lawson and he seems like a genuinely grounded person.

2025-03-27 23:45:24 +0000 UTCLooking forward to the F1 equivalent of Chad Daniel’s ‘Press Conference’ with Oscar in a few years.

2025-03-27 23:26:03 +0000 UTCYour Oscar a little more animated than our Oscar in the radio messages... :-P

2025-03-27 23:22:51 +0000 UTCFantastic! Thank you Scott and family

2025-03-27 23:12:59 +0000 UTCThis was very sweet.

2025-03-27 21:34:22 +0000 UTCLiam is an incredibly down-to-earth young man. So disappointed with the way Netflix portrayed him 😑 He has completely owned his poor performance the last couple of weeks, no excuses, all after bearing the brunt of many nasty Ricciardo/Perez/Tsunoda fans on social media over the past six months. Really hoping he bounces back 👏

2025-03-27 20:46:06 +0000 UTCI suppose Ben has dropped down another place on your list of people to have on your podcasts, Edd?

2025-03-27 20:37:20 +0000 UTCKudos on executing a much smoother seat swap than Red Bull managed!

2025-03-27 20:27:41 +0000 UTCMove over Scott, there's a new podcaster in town 😍

2025-03-27 20:02:51 +0000 UTCFreaking adorable!!!!!

2025-03-27 19:59:23 +0000 UTCI'm totally with the Little D. And imagine the political fallout for Red Bull management if Yuki turns out to be brilliant
Simon Emms
2025-03-27 19:39:29 +0000 UTCI’m blown away by the kind words about Oskar’s interjections 😂 thanks everybody! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and the singing (not from me thankfully!) - maybe more from Oskar in the future
Scott Mitchell-Malm
2025-03-27 19:30:59 +0000 UTCHe can join tomorrow’s recording if you like

2025-03-27 19:07:38 +0000 UTCThat was a lot of fun. Having other people's opinions is always great. Especially the younger generation!

2025-03-27 19:07:14 +0000 UTCOskar has a very solid impression of Christian Horner

2025-03-27 18:44:41 +0000 UTCSince this is now a family show (good addition by team Mitchell-Malm, the young chap has got some pipes on him!) I asked my daughter for her thoughts. Her answer was "well that will be nice for Yuki because he might win a race." A nice positive spin on the story!
Steve D
2025-03-27 18:36:30 +0000 UTCEither works for me. Oskar picking 93 would be like me picking (depressingly) 1951
Simon Emms
2025-03-27 18:24:32 +0000 UTCLove the comic relief Oskar provides - exactly what this Red Bull saga needed! And much more relevant than any statement that's come out of that team as of late. He does take after his father. 😉
Davy Coolen
2025-03-27 18:05:38 +0000 UTCI was thinking slightly differently - that Scott is at risk of being dropped for Oskar!
Edd Straw
2025-03-27 18:02:14 +0000 UTCCool to get a different format. Think there are many cups of tea to be made in thanks for the replacement Edd Straw, Sara.

2025-03-27 17:55:24 +0000 UTCThanks Scott, I think Oskar made some really salient points.

2025-03-27 17:49:22 +0000 UTCOskar giving a straighter answer than Horner will in Suzuka
Chris Campbell
2025-03-27 17:38:55 +0000 UTCOskar wouldn't have picked 1993. Another tick next to his name ✅

2025-03-27 17:34:23 +0000 UTCWhat a great video! Love the "outside perspective" of Sarah. I can very much relate. More of this please 🙏

2025-03-27 17:20:44 +0000 UTCThats a very low bar though…

2025-03-27 17:08:07 +0000 UTCJust fantastic

2025-03-27 16:46:43 +0000 UTCThe family inclusion is super fun; I like the sort of "outsider perspective" addition. Due respect to your wife, but I found Oskar's commentary to be particularly astute and insightful. 10/10 input from the young man! ❤️ I think he and my boys (5/Tifosi and 2/Aston) could put together an excellent F1 podcast. 🤣
Will
2025-03-27 16:45:34 +0000 UTCThey sing it every morning at his förskola and as I just said in another reply, probably because of these comments, i started to sing it to him when we got to our destination and he ran over and sat down to listen and clap along like they do there 😂
Scott Mitchell-Malm
2025-03-27 16:41:46 +0000 UTCHappy to share the workload!
Scott Mitchell-Malm
2025-03-27 16:40:44 +0000 UTCWe think so as they sign it every morning at his förskola and (probably because of these comments!) when i started to sing it to him just now he ran over and sat down like they do there 😂 so it’s definitely a favourite and seems to be in his repertoire!
Scott Mitchell-Malm
2025-03-27 16:40:06 +0000 UTCOscar thinks you talk way to much about this 🤣 I’m impressed as a parent by your ability to get your point across with that sideshow in the backseat.

2025-03-27 16:33:07 +0000 UTCOscar makes more sense than Christian Horner & Helmut Marko 😂😂

2025-03-27 16:28:43 +0000 UTCI love the Da Da Da from Oskar!

2025-03-27 16:27:28 +0000 UTCThat was fun. Edd best watch out as he's at risk of being dropped for Oskar.

2025-03-27 15:35:46 +0000 UTCMy main takeaway from this video is that Oskar's first forray into the world of sports journalism is a roaring success!

2025-03-27 15:34:00 +0000 UTCCan’t wait for oscar’s commentary when he has actual words!
Jenny
2025-03-27 15:29:17 +0000 UTCwas it Twinkle Twinkle? I thought so as well and agree the musicality is top level!!
Cory Caouette
2025-03-27 15:28:53 +0000 UTCOskar's commentary is quite fitting for the Red Bull management of their drivers.
James Nicholson
2025-03-27 15:18:18 +0000 UTCLove this!! Great video!
Jessica Bennett
2025-03-27 15:13:09 +0000 UTCAs a musician I think Oskar has some natural talent. I mean he didn't exactly sound like Mozart, but I'd expect most children that age to be completely dissonant. I play guitar, but I wish my parents had made me play piano. It's the best way to start because it teaches you the basics of rhythm and melody so you have a huge head start to learning any other instrument (including voice).

2025-03-27 15:10:36 +0000 UTCGreat video, 👍 Another RedBull victim of team not knowing what they want
URBAN MOTO-BIKE
2025-03-27 15:00:36 +0000 UTCThink Oscar had some questions too. 😂

2025-03-27 14:48:45 +0000 UTCThank you Scott and family!

2025-03-27 14:47:47 +0000 UTCMaybe the best clip in Formula One history 😅

2025-03-27 14:23:25 +0000 UTCGreat info and Oscar was the cherry on top!
Jenny
2025-03-27 14:21:00 +0000 UTCThe vaguely "twinkle twinkle little star" undercurrent to Oskar's song is a really astute if sarcastic commentary on Red Bull's young driver program, and I'm on board for more of his expert analysis.

2025-03-27 14:20:15 +0000 UTCThis was absolutly brilliant 🤩
