The Piastri contract announcement might end up destabilizing some other teams as they scramble to work out their 2026 line-ups. Of course it's great for McLaren to have their business all done, and no distractions as they gear up for the season, but it really thrusts the limelight onto Mercedes (and possibly Red Bull), does this add to McLaren's edge that they seem to have for the season?

We need to do the best that we have. I don’t flirt outside if I’m in a good relationship and that is true for this year too. So at the moment that’s not on our any radar and I don’t plan to shift my concentration away from these guys. I’ll make sure that George has visibility pretty soon - or has a contract, agree on the final things."
