In-car insights: Taking your questions before F1 testing starts

So while our F1 team on the ground in Bahrain were stuck in traffic, Scott Mitchell-Malm, Edd Straw and their chauffeur Jon Noble decided to have a chat looking ahead to the next three days of F1 action, working their way through some of the questions posted under Scott's recent video here on Patreon.
We hope you enjoy this slightly different style of exclusive podcast, and we promise there'll be many more over the course of 2025!

Are F1 teams forced to attend the F1 test? Increasingly they seem to do everything they can to obfuscate and hide true performance. Equally they are only allowed one car on track when they have highly paid drivers kicking their heels in the back of the garage. It must cost several million quid to get the team out there. In a world of cost caps, cars with moderate changes vs the previous year - and increasingly accurate CFD, would a team (if it were allowed) forego the test, save the money, and spend it later in the season?

I use the one from the website rather than Patreon as it works better with my podcast app of choice and couldn’t see it there unlike most of the other Members Pods, also noticed this with the BBV10s debriefs too if you’re able to look into this. Thanks!
