Adam: Nnnnot entirely sure that last poll was entirely on the up-and-up.... Nnn. Thinking about that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I need something down-home and old-fashioned....
Martin: Well, so far I'm not having the best of luck, but no matter. You want to put up Betty there? Then clearly I have to go with Veronica.
Adam: Huh... Wait... Bookish, reserved, doesn't wear a bikini at the beach, painfully innocent and cheery... Holy crap, she IS Betty!
Martin: Elizabeth is even Betty's actual name! Veronica is clearly the perfect counter here! ... Bet people were expecting every comic character in the tournament to be a superhero, huh?
Adam: Heh. What's especially awesome about that is that Veronica was a last-minute sub-in but she was still replacing a non-superhero character.
Martin: Yeah, this was going to be Zoe from Venus Envy but... Yeah, I pretty much knew from the second I was considering her she wasn't winning. Shame since she's cute. Plus it'd mean both tournaments had a trans character and that'd have been nice. ... Not to mention being a bisexual whose birth name was Alex makes it easy to plug Wright as Rayne.
Adam: Hm.... Alternate universes.... sock hops... 1912.... Hamburgers... Damn, I can't think of a way to plug the comics unless we get REALLY abstra- WAIT! Both Veronica and Alex are friends with witches!
Martin: ... Are there any Archie video games? There needs to be an Archie dating sim.
Adam: HA! Holy shit, would there be an option to try and fruitlessly juggle both of them until they turn on you like that one bit in Persona?
Martin: That or just go full School Days with it. Nice Boat.
Adam: To be fair, Archie DOES have something like that coming. I mean, he's been waffling on these girls since the 50s.
Martin: I mean, it wouldn't be the first time he got murdered.
Adam: Or the second, come to that.
Martin: In either case, I think it's safe to say that this choice is much more consequential than trying to decide what necklace to wear.
Adam: You get more consequential choices than that in Bioshock! There's one part where you're given the option to mercy-kill a man being tortured.... Right before you leave his dimension forever and never see him again either way!
Martin: It's kind of fascinating in a way. On one hand, a universe where your choices don't matter! On the other, a universe where a choice is never made!
Adam: God, which one of those is more fatalistic? .... YOU DECIDE! Would you rather a stunning, glamorous heiress who knows what she wants but is hindered by a dickhead suitor that can't make up his mind....
Martin: Or Rapunzel with a reasonable hair cut and a bird monster? Vote now!
