Overheard in the Barracks
Added 2020-04-19 07:42:22 +0000 UTCI guess I should open by mentioning this is being bumped ahead in the queue to get it up to coincide with Fire Emblem's 30th anniversary on the 20th! Who better to go with for the occasion than the co-series mascot whose birthday is also April 20th?
So we've been doing some experimenting! This is actually the fourth time this particular shot of Lucina's been drawn - we did an initial sketch of her in one of those finish later sheets we were talking about, then I did some heavy overhauling to it later as kind of a pitch for some changes to the art. Then it was done again as part of playing around with vectors, then this time with this thick dark grey lines outside, thinner lines inside thing we've been playing around with now.
We're very eager to hear thoughts on how that turned out, and on how it plays with the more conventionally-styled background - we've been trying stuff out on backgrounds both ways and the next picture submitted will probably be another thing we've redone in this style (though the lines on that one are solid black, we hadn't gotten to doing the dark grey thing yet) with the thicker background which should help with comparing and contrasting that.
... Sorry, we're not doing anything for the 30th anniversary of F-Zero, much like Nintendo. Not entirely ruling out Super Mario World and Dr. Mario though.
