It's a case of 'vibes' (Valentin Khorounzhiy and Matt Beer) vs 'reason' (Simon Patterson and Megan White) in our debate, with interjections from the wider The Race family too as we create a ranking with some very surprising scores along the way.
Should we prioritise actual championship position achievements above overachievement on lesser machinery? Who was guilty of recency bias (and who vehemently denied it)?

4th ... for Pecco ??? Though crowd, I mean what does he have to do, he won more races (real races) than anybody else, maybe because he isnt as SHOUTY he doesnt get the credit he's due. Better than M Marquez who was ridding free from any expectation or pressure.

Zarco went to a bike that broke Lorenzo like BANE BROKE BATMAN. Zarco went to a bike that Alex Rins still poops his pants thinking about. And Zarco is not only thriving, he is surviving (I said what I said).

2024-11-29 17:37:20 +0000 UTCWasn't disappointed with this episode at all! I found myself simultaneously disagreeing and agreeing with the rankings which is a good sign I think. For what it's worth my Top 10 before I listed to the pod were: 1) Martin 2) Bagnaia 3) M Marquez 4) Acosta 5) Bastianini 6) Binder 7) Di Giannantonio 8) Quartararo 9) Vinales 10) Zarco After listening, I'd probably swap Binder and Quartararo but keep the rest the same. For me, Quartararo was the hardest to place given there was only one other rider on the same bike. I strongly contemplated putting Pecco 3rd or 4th but felt the sheer number of race wins were too much to overlook. Pedro was probably going to be my #1 pick until the half way point when he started crashing a bit too much. But overall, some good debate and a great episode 😃
