⭐️ BBV10s Extra: Schumacher or Newey? More of your V10 questions answered!

Who was more important to have during F1's V10 era: Michael Schumacher or Adrian Newey?

Mark Hughes and Ben Anderson join Glenn Freeman to charge into another batch of Bring Back V10s questions exclusively for The Race Members' Club.

Other topics covered include how Jenson Button would have got on if he'd actually made his attempted move back to Williams for 2005, if Michael Schumacher wanted Eddie Irvine to win the title in 1999, how the Senna vs Schumacher rivalry would have played out beyond 1994, if Ferrari ever used its rules veto, and what Jacques Villeneuve could have achieved if he'd made better career choices.

I'm also going to risk the wrath of Glenn by saying JV wouldn't have done as well as predicted if he stayed at Williams. Yes, he sees off Zanardi and a green Button no question. Seeing off a prime Montoya? Not a chance. I think for all his limitations, Montoya would have ended JVs top line career in the long run. JV would have resorted to psychological games but Montoya wouldn't have given a s***. JVs end at Williams would have ended similarly to his time at BAR, with a whimper. Another factor of which the panel may have missed was that Montoya was very Mansell esque in manhandling those Williamses around, whereas JV liked to mess around with odd setups in the hope of striking gold. I don't remember JV being that physical of a driver.

I always wondered why McLaren ended up signing with Merc in 95 when they were using BMW in the F1. It always struck me as odd that they were courting two German marques at the same time for different "F1" projects.
