The Bring Back V10s 1997 Revisited series returns with one of the most famous races of that season: the Hungarian Grand Prix that was so nearly won by Damon Hill.

It takes me to the player, it just stays on 0:00. Doesn't play if I select later in the episode. It would be for one of the major races of the season. 😀

That's odd. We've checked the access for it and it's all set up as it should be. What happens when you try to play it?

The Race

For some reason this episode won't play for me. All other episodes are playing, not this one.

That's what we love about this place. We think we have a vague memory of something, then you guys fill in the (numerous) blanks! Great recall, Jon.

The Race

Agreed!

We can't afford the lawyers we'd need...

You're right. It feels like a lifetime ago that series now!

On the missed pass for the lead - I'd just started buying F1 Racing magazine and remember someone writing in to say a one-eyed rabbit could have predicted that move for the lead...!

Please do a full episode on ‘bent’ races 😅

Matt

I remember it well (or should I say, not well!) The pain! Look forward to hearing this with the BBV10s treatment.

Glenn was right - ITV not only missed Damon's pass for the lead, but also missed his last gasp qualifying effort that moved him to 3rd on the grid. However, this one was out of their control, as the world feed (which presumably was still a local TV director) was busy showing something else (possibly MSC cruising on an in lap) whilst Murray was going berserk! 🤣 ITV obtained the F1D+ footage, which still only caught the last two or three corners of Damon's lap, and replayed it in the pre-race show (and possibly also on the Saturday teatime Murray & Martin Special). I distinctly recall Simon Taylor explaining to everyone the then novel (and not part of the world feed) feature of the session clock being shown at the top of the screen!
