Ad-free MotoGP pod: What was Martin thinking?

Will Jorge Martin's disastrous pit decision in the San Marino Grand Prix prove decisive in the 2024 MotoGP world championship fight?

At least one member of The Race MotoGP Podcast panel reckons so.

Simon Patterson, Valentin Khorounzhiy and Matt Beer debate all the events of Misano from Martin's championship-lead-slashing tyre choice blunder to the implications of Marc Marquez's win for his 2024 and 2025 seasons - and for perceptions of Pecco Bagnaia.

The end of the Repsol Honda era being announced on a day when there weren't even any Repsol Hondas on the grid plus Yamaha's subtle rise are also discussed as we answer plenty of questions from The Race Members' Club too.

Love this, Matt. I'm absolutely putting that to the others on the Extra episode this week. I'll get in quick now and say 'definitely not Vinales' is my answer to that particular swap but let's see what the proper pundits think - Matt

Enjoyed the cheeky Vettel comment in there.

I think Pecco is great, but we have to acknowledge that in Lorenzo’s era there was more than one competitive bike which led to more competitive factory riders. As a thought experiment, assume Pecco Bagnaia swapped for the lead rider of any other manufacturer this year. So Bagnaia and Binder will try Bagnaia on a KTM, or Bagnaia and Vinales, or Bagnaia and Quartararo. Who wins the 2024 championship?
