BBV10s S9 E1: The crazy fallout from Suzuka '89

Bring Back V10s is back for a new series! Longtime F1 journalist and radio commentator Maurice Hamilton joins Glenn Freeman and Edd Straw to revisit the 1989 Japanese Grand Prix, a much-requested race where Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna had the first of their infamous collisions. And as we discover, what went on in the weeks following the race was even more ludicrous than the sight of the two McLarens stranded at the chicane after F1's highest-profile slow-speed accident.

Listening to this after Jerez ‘97 and the incident seems so similar. I rewatched the 30min review on F1TV and when you see Prost turn in from the overhead it is so clear that he intends to hit Senna. He turns way too soon to even make the argument that he was turning for the chicane. One incident does not make a season, but with Schumacher DQd from the season for trying this in ‘97, revisionist history would have Prost DQd in ‘89.
