🤔 I have a contemplative one for you, and I have a story of my own. When was the first time an authority figure let you down, or you realized that adults don't know what the hell they're doing? The first time you judged an adult?
I'm reminded of these sailing lessons I took as a kid. The folks in charge thought instruction meant putting pairs of 8 year olds, each in a tiny boat, and just letting it capsize again and again, dumping them into the bay... That same week my small boat went over in the rapids-- i was left bobbing in my life preserver while the teacher-- in his shiny MOTORBOAT-- turned from me and went to retrieve another kid. Like-' 'hold on, let me get this guy first'... I SCREAMED at this teacher: "YOU CAN'T JUST LEAVE ME HERE!" I bore into him with my eyeballs. I was absolutely FURIOUS. It was the first time I judged an adult in that way lol. He sped right back and picked me up. He was brooding and stone silent, but i glowered at him the rest of the way back. Later I told my Mom, in so many words-- FUCK. SAILING. 😆
