More setup today, spent some time coloring the cameras/setting up yet another camera angle for the course. Had singing lesson (working on "Don't wanna miss a thing" lol) and did some chores/planning.
Jonas is booked for finishing up the Levels of Bohemian Rhapsody edit, but that'll drop in a couple weeks.
Did some music production stuff as well, and thinking about what kinda songwriting videos could be interesting on the channel. Let me know what kinda songwriting stuff you'd be excited about! Collabs with other creators? Some kinda theme that has to do with something you like or feel? Let me know!

But adding that element of chaos could make really exciting songs! The wheel prompts/obstacles/punishments would just have to be pre-chosen carefully to bring the writers out of their element in an inspiring, rather than limiting, way

People are probably so excited about ur course that they won't notice the colors too much though ๐ If it was Aerosmith's Don't wanna miss a thing, then I wish I could have been a fly on the wall on that training session ๐ That's such a cheesy and beautiful song and especially if u were using the rockier sound on ur voice, it was probably really cool ๐ I'm excited that u didn't throw away the Levels video, can't wait to see it ๐ There's many good ideas on the comments already ๐ My first thought was wheel of doom ๐ Jonas has had this wheel of punishments on his streams, but in songwriting purpose there could be 1-3 wheels with sections like: music genre, types of songs, topics for lyrics, purpose for the song, feeling, words that has to be included in the song, instruments, sounds from everyday gadgets etc. Or it could be more music nerdy wheel with smarter sections of notes, melodies, rythms, beats whatever ๐ Or maybe u have done something like this already, I haven't seen all of your videos yet ๐ Those songwriting videos u have made have been so much fun and some really nice songs have come out of those! Also We fix famous songs (try not to laugh) should have a sequel, u guys laughing is so contagious ๐ Since I'm a boomer, songwriting video with piano ballads or 80s 90s rock ballads would be nice ๐ But I don't know how popular that would be ๐ Wedding song for Jonas & Bianca ๐ Songs for different moods or for relaxing or falling asleep etc. Sorry for this long rambling ๐ซฃ Probably not helping too much ๐ I hope u have a fantastic Friday ๐๐

Why not do a collab where you work with a content creator to make a song from scratch together? And record the whole process. Another idea is writing songs based on an interesting/funny story your collaborator has experienced in their life, and they write a song based on an interesting/funny moment in your life too. I think almost everyone loves hearing stories you, Jonas and August have, so this could work.

If you want people to see you too, imho outfit choice or/and colour scheme isnโt the best as youโre blending in too much. My opinion is just based on the picture that youโve shared. 2. I like your songwriting videos a lot so maybe you can do something like finish the song that another person started. 3. I stopped watching Youtube lately in general so any collabs will be about the same for me ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ

Or, if a songwriter then you could flip as well. This one is totally crazy but what if you got a cat to walk on your keyboard as inspiration. Not sure what to feel about the coloring of this set-up. Last time you wanted colorful and this time sepia. Does the coloring, lighting and camera angle make a big difference with regard to viewer's enjoyment? Are you just trying to set a style for a specific type of video? Looking forward to the levels video. Glad you decided to release it. PS. I think I am in the minority here but l would like to see you making videos on your own for a bit. Iโll be looking forward for both the commentary and the levels videos.

Or I would love if you worked with good TikTok song writers or indie artists. However, if you do a collab on making a song whether itโs a song made together or a feature or a challenge against each other, can we please get a full song out of it that we can stream? Even if it has to be a part two video to reveal the finished song? I felt myself wanting more or complete versions of the last song writing challenges. Canโt wait for what ya come up with!

But what about if youโre doing a cover of someone elseโs songโฆ. But they donโt have it published anywhere that you can find (I can give an example if you need, but not publicly here)? Is there copyright laws or just in general โunwritten rulesโ for stuff like that? I think those things that scare new musicians from trying things would be a great topic to cover as well.

Also congratulations on both their engagements ๐ โค๏ธ For songwriting videos, I'm thinking just basically what you wanna do lol like for example when you used to break down each parts of song and beats, etc. Then you made the lyrics , bam there's a song lol Or maybe make it more complex in a way (since it's for a songwriting challenge & all) lol Would like to see you or whoever is going to be involved in songwriting challenges unless it's only you, take a risk and make it harder to use certain types of like tunings or auto tunes, certain types of synth beats, etc. And so on. But that's my opinion, of course you don't have to follow my suggestions but yeah, if not that's completely fine and you do you Joel! :) Whatever works with you, no matter what you do for these videos, I'll enjoy them either way! :)

As for a songwriting/collab video, might be fun to give 2 or 3 people the same instrumental but everyone has to write their own lyrics and see which one turns out the best. Would be interesting to see how many directions a song could be taken in!

If they were small pieces, it could be short songs (like the comment ones). If you wanted to do a longer song it could be something else. Obviously. So many variations.

Good thing about Bohemian Rhapsody is it has many sections to pick from for a levels video, hopefully the wrong Freddy was used and you dressed up as FNAF! Collab wise I suppose it depends on how deep you're going into the song lyric journey, are we talking Max Martin masterclass? Would you singing coach ever be up for us watching your progress on a song with them and discussing techniques and tips for being the next Joel B??

Or setting up challenges or dares for the next creator to work on it and pass it back and forth? Maybe riskier cause you wouldnโt be able to control the songโs outcome, but itโs always super interesting to see how differently people work - especially when thereโs funny drama hehe

I have no idea for collabs lmao I don't watch many youtubers anymore, at least not ones you'd collab with other than Jazza and maybe Steven He ๐ I'm the worst at ideas but I came up with learning magic (when you posted wanting ideas before holiday) for x amount of time and documenting the journey and maybe finding another influencer who could mentor you one day and give you a crash course etc ๐ฉ๐ช๐ฎโจ๏ธ Oh! and there was this device I saw awhile back that like you attach to a plant ๐ฟ and it plays music and each type of plant has a different "song" and I thought it would be rad to use it to create a song or songs with ๐ฑ๐ป
