Just wanted to give you the lay of the land. We're changing a lot of things in the backend/the way we do things right now, so a lot of invisible work that won't pay off just yet. It looks like the first songwriting video on a new channel goes out next week, and as you know I filmed a Levels of Singing video last week that should be ready soon (Rikard is working on it downstairs).
I hope all of you are doing great! I'm really excited about where I am in general right now, though numbers may be slightly down on the RoomieOfficial channel at the moment, they won't be for long. It's been important for me to take a little bit of a step back and look at the big picture, looking at stuff like what you guys were looking forwards to in the polls here on patreon, what videos people subscribed for on the channel, etc.
I really just want to make the best stuff possible, and put it on channels where the highest percentage of people will enjoy it. I used my main youtube channel as a "catch-all" for everything for a long time, but I've realized that's not the best way to go about it on youtube anymore, so we're evolving.
I'm playing with the idea of the new channels being a bit more "partnerships" with my friends rather than me overseeing everything - that would mean sometimes you might see a songwriting video with just Jonas and August, or similar. Just small things like that would unlock time for me to work more on the music I want to release, as well as things like Levels of Singing videos, personal videos connecting with you guys etc.
At the end of the day our time is a zero-sum game, and everything we do means we're choosing not to do everything else at that moment. I think all this is a great step towards everything being better across the board, for everyone, viewers and team alike.
Anyway, that's the update. Yall are really sick. I would love to figure out better ways of connecting viewers like you guys, in my ideal world my viewers (who want to) would be in group chats together, playing games together, making meaningful connections is this more and more disconnected time.

Polling across all social media and pooling their fan bases would give a much bigger sample for an accurate research study. I mean, I know it's "just" social media but that's where the viewers are. I think the younger generations are on socials more than his original viewers, and he needs to attract a new crowd to stay relevant. I'm not an expert by any means, but I advertise my business to a certain demographic because that's where I attract the most customers. And I have to be present where said customers are more likely to be hanging out.

I'm so excited that you're excited! I have some top tier friends in this community! Even though I can't be as active as I'd like on social, I know they're there for me and vice versa. They mean far more to me than just a username on a computer screen :)

This would also be useful to see what social feed prefers what content, then the team could post appropriate content to that feed. I first saw Joel's videos on Facebook Watch (or whatever it was before that) and it was from seeing those I moved over to YT, so hopefully others would do the same? Like you said if you're a Patreon, you're die hard to the channel so whilst we are all good soundingboards , we're not the people Joel needs to impress to get the views!

Most of us are quite diehard fans and will watch whatever the team puts out, so maybe it's not the right group to poll when it comes to choosing what projects will yield the most views/ interactive results across various platforms and channels.

They split the content across games/reactions/main channel/Subscription channels. Yes there are 7 of them so they can cover more ground (including their own personal channels/Twitch accounts) but they try to split the load evenly to cover the different genres. They realised early on that a one channel fits all doesn't work. It's better to have a channel with active watchers to that category, hopefully meaning more consistent viewing. Taking time to allow the channel to evolve is smart and future proofing. Utilising Jonas, August, Chance and any of your YT friends to front content is a great idea for challenges. The channel will find fresh viewers if you occasionally focus on the younger audience trends - be a bit like Family Guy/The Simpsons, family friendly with adult jokes veiled in comedy! You're doing great buddy, keep up the awesome job you're doing. X

Yeah, I've been noticing that why the subs , etc on the RoomieOfficial channel has been wacky at times lol But as you've been mentioning that you have multiple channels to work with, that's amazing! & putting them in different categories like Gaming channel, music related , non-music related channel & so on. I think it's a perfect place for that imo!π I'm wondering how are you able to keep up with all of those channels, editing , planning the videos , filming them , doing Twitch streams , etc. But I know you're Very good at keeping up with multiple tasks I was just saying that coz my mind can wonder off into different scenarios, and, such. That's to say, that direction is one we've clearly been enjoying too. And maybe it gives everyone (on the team) a chance for a break from doing the same old thing constantly.
