Sneak Peek: Chariot
Added 2022-03-21 02:37:44 +0000 UTCWorking on a song on a certain theme (secret!) and as part of it we are reacreating some parts of songs. Here's my recreation of the chorus of Gavin Degraw's "Chariot". It's crazy how something like this can be recreated so closely just in the computer now, you don't really have to record anything if you know what you're doing, while back when it came out they needed to work in studios and spend a lot of time on having session musicians etc. It's sad in a way, but it's also cool to see how far technology has come! Hope you like!

2022-03-24 04:31:39 +0000 UTCOh no. I was so excited about Joel noticing me/my comment, that I excitedly posted the screenshot to my own patrons, and now I had to go through the harrowing experience of explaining to a guy in his 50s or 60s internet speak and anime memes. Pray for me and my dumb ass. (also because the premise of the original comment also leads to the conclusion that I am, in fact, a dumbass)

2022-03-23 03:02:33 +0000 UTCAs a model who oftentimes works in a photography-instructional setting and also likes to pay attention to the camera talk in all settings, I've never met a photographer who even bothered with automatic settings, so, yeah, you're very right. Also on that note thank the gods for photo-editing software and my time and practice with it because I'd never have been as successful without it, lol. "Good to look at" is just as valid as "authentic".

2022-03-22 05:49:40 +0000 UTCI think it’s the same as photography. Anyone with a camera with ‘automatic’ settings can take and publish pictures now, but it still takes practise and a bit of talent to make something that really touches you or others. To be honest, I find myself overwhelmed by all the possibilities in music now. I used to be way more creative as a kid, using whatever I had at hand somehow.

2022-03-21 19:11:29 +0000 UTCI always LOVED this song and got to see Gavin live before. Your voice is amazing with it 🙌 It is amazing knowing how far technology has come but you’re right, also sad that musicians don’t need to be utilized in a way they once were.

2022-03-21 07:02:10 +0000 UTCGAVIN! 😍😍😍 Ugh it's been a hot minute since I saw him live last but MY GOD he's just the best! I miss the Chariot era of music.

2022-03-21 05:16:30 +0000 UTCThat sounds great. Really curious now about the project. How long did it take you to make this?

2022-03-21 04:27:29 +0000 UTCI absolutely love these kinds of things, different sounds, tones, loving the way that you're experiencing with it! :)

2022-03-21 04:02:47 +0000 UTCWait, there was no actual singing involved in making this? What?

2022-03-21 03:52:46 +0000 UTCI think having tech advancements is a great thing, but I feel it is important to still preserve the "traditions" of the past

2022-03-21 03:40:17 +0000 UTCThat really suits your voice, is this classed as country pop? There's something about the natural quirks of live instrument playing that can make a track brilliant. I'm certain The Beatles, Queen and the Rolling Stones must of had many a bum note, accidental noise or random twang of a guitar string that made it into the track. It's great technology has come so far, the fact you no longer need an instrument to actually make music still makes me feel sad.

2022-03-21 02:53:34 +0000 UTCIt's like the music equivalent of digital drawing and such. It's all amazing to me tbh. Over here with ZERO talents. Lol

2022-03-21 02:45:37 +0000 UTCThis! All forms of art needs to be more accessible to the public I think. Don't get me started on the cost of professional grade art supplies, let alone software/equipment needed to do what Joel does to begin with. Making money as an artist is a true struggle.
Mari
2022-03-21 02:45:28 +0000 UTCI just looked up the meaning of this song. That’s nice :) I agree tho. It is sad in a way bc you almost can’t tell the difference. Why secrets?!?!

2022-03-21 02:45:03 +0000 UTCthis one is kinda special/weird and out of the ordinary lol. So it's not representative

2022-03-21 02:44:39 +0000 UTCSo, maybe sad in that it will definitely make some feel less inclined to even bother, but I think there will always be people who want to go that route. It's cool because we can have BOTH.

2022-03-21 02:43:23 +0000 UTCI think having new ways to go about anything is awesome for a lot of reasons...one of which is that it can allow for people who might not have the ability or whatever to make art. I.e. if you can't play an instrument and you want to make music that includes a variation of sounds.
Dannielle O'Neill
2022-03-21 02:42:54 +0000 UTCSounds amazing! Love the tone!

2022-03-21 02:40:31 +0000 UTCThat's what I was talking about last time! It's really cool to have the technology to do this all on your computer, but we're losing some of the rituals of music making. Good, bad, I don't know.
Sugary Magnolia
2022-03-21 02:40:30 +0000 UTCOh! This sounds like a cool concept. Cant wait to see how things have changed with the development of technology… it is sad.. but also allows those that have vision that didn’t think they could make something before, be able to now.. double edge sword, I guess.

2022-03-21 02:40:22 +0000 UTCExcited to see the video this goes with. Are most of the videos going to be themed?
Cas
2022-03-21 02:40:03 +0000 UTCYour voice sounds great and it's definitely insane how you're able to recreate it so easily when there was a time when this wasn't possible. It's catch 22 in some ways.
