This MUST be one of the best DUETS of all time? (exclusive video)

Hey Patreons!

Hope you had a great weekend!
Here is another exclusive video for all of you where we go through one of the biggest duets of all time - "Don't go breaking my heart" with Elton John and Kiki Dee.

If you had to pick 3 duet songs, which would those be?
It would be fun to see your lists!

To add to Charlie’s point also, Elton was married/had a wife I think for the earlier part of his career. Ooh, speaking of Elton - would you consider reacting to Rocketman, Joel? Or having a watch party for it on the discord?

Krystal Jade

Islands In The Stream (Dolly Parton and Kenny Rodgers), Can You Feel The Love Tonight (Original Lion King), Joker and The Queen (Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift)...

Teagan

1. Me Against The Music by Britney Spears ft Madonna 2. Coney Island by Taylor Swift ft The National 3. Evermore by Taylor Swift ft Bon Iver

Stephanie Bruso

I’m so jelly of the new video. I wanna du-et with Joel. ;~;

Holly Baker

This is one of my favorite songs!

SierraG

"Lust for Life" The Weeknd and Lana Del Rey "Save Your Tears" The Weeknd and Ariana Grande "Dark Times" The Weeknd and Ed Sheeran And honorary mention: "Exile" Taylor Swift and Bon Iver Those are all the duets (sans the other lana/weeknd one) on my main playlist I listen to the most. I think it's pretty clear whom I love the most KEKW

Mari

It's really great live! It wouldn't come close to the original, but when I'm alone and singing along to that song, I can't help but imagine standing on a stage with a talented duet partner, lots of beautiful backing vocals, passionate musicians and dramatic lighting. It might be a weird fantasy for a very introverted and a little bit shy person who feels awkward in the spotlight, but it's definitely my favorite song. :)

duETs from a K-pop fan: Loco & Hwasa - Don't - (Live) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IB6kViGA3rY (Lyrics) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-C29wTzFT0 A conversation between grownups. Booze often leads to sex, and that's not what I want right now. A duET with rapping and singing that works beautifully. Baekhyun & Chen (EXO) - I Didn't Know Live on Immortal Songs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RHKqKSRl00 Lyrics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaINE2OUq3k Two guys wailing gorgeously about lost loves. Wow! "Make this go on forever" is a stunning song. Never thought about the possibility of it as a duet. I can't even imagine someone singing besides Gary. I've seen this song performed live a few times and it's the most powerful thing ever. You can feel it in your body.

Nanda

He just seems like this kind of person. I hope I can see him live one day too.

Nanda

My top 3 is: 1. The last time - Taylor Swift & Gary Lightbody (I slightly prefer the 2021 version) 2. Il nous fait - Elisa Tovati & Tom Dice 3. Jet lag - Simple Plan/Pierre Bouvier & Marie-Mai (I prefer the half French version) And if one day I learn to sing well, I would like to sing 'Make this go on forever' as a very dramatic duet.

N. wondering

Elton and Kiki are so adorable!! Best duet in my opinion❤❤

Jasmin

I think this is a great duet (Don't go breaking my heart), one of my favorites here, another obviously is "A whole new world" and I would add here "Say something" by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera, I love it. Btw great video today's 🤗

Phoebe Grint

OMG, Glen and Marketa, yass!! I saw Swell Season live when they toured the states and met Glen after a show. The most charming gentleman of all time. If I could share pics on here, I would.

Shannon Kraushaar

Wow I'd completely forgotten how good Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush sounded. It wasn't my thing when I was younger but I can appreciate now that is was a great song!

Clair (Teampanda)

My all time fav duet is Islands in the Stream. I also love Reba McIntire’s Does He Love You with Linda Davis. It’s a feature, so I’m not sure it really counts. Finally, I like Husbands & Wives by Roger & Mary Miller. And I swear I’m not as old as my music tastes!

Tonya Davis

Elton John sang a lot of straight love songs. When he was coming up, gay love songs wouldn't have been popular. Plus the lyrics of most of his songs were done by Bernie Taupin (including this song). And Bernie was a straight man, in fact several of the songs are written for his wife (at the time) Maxine Feibelman, including Tiny Dancer. She had taken ballet as a child and was a seamstress for musical acts. As for Duets, They are all going to be Bowie: Under Pressure - With Queen Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth - Bing Crospy Pretty Pink Rose - Adrian Belew (his guitar player early in his career)

Charlie Badger

I love this song

Kayla

1) Falling Slowly - Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová (Oscar winner!) 2) Volcano - Damien Rice and Lisa Hannigan (They are a duet in my heart) 3) Up - James Morrison and Jessie J.

Nanda

there're so many good duets that I can't choose 3! these are the last 3 I heard today: Don't give up - Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush How can I go on - Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballé Candy - Iggy Pop & Kate Pierson

Maki

My favorites are: 1. Queen & Bowie "Under Pressure" 2. Stevie Nicks & Tom Petty "Stop Draggin My Heart Around" 3. Aretha Franklin & George Michael "I Knew You Were Waiting

Jennifer Sinquefield King

If I had to pick 3, I think these would be it. It's so hard because there are lots of good ones out there! A Whole New World A Million Dreams (The Greatest Showman) Under Pressure (David Bowie, Freddie Mercury)

Courtney Walker

What was your rating? I really like this one, it’s a classic! My top 3: 1) Beauty and the Beast (Celine Dion & Peabo Bryson) 2) For Good (Kristin Chenowith and Idina Menzel, from the Wicked musical) 3) The Prayer (Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli)

loonylovesgood

Oh, Come What May is such a beauty of a song. <3

Shannon Kraushaar

My top three (excluding the OG “Whole New World” because everyone knows how great that is) are based on how fun I think they are to actually sing with other people: 1- Jackson by Johnny Cash & June Carter Cash 2- Time of My Life by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes 3- It’s Your Love by Tim McGraw & Faith Hill

Kayla

David Bowie and Freddie Mercury - Under Pressure Queen and George Michael - Somebody to Love (not strictly a duet but I've heard a version that had both Freddie and George singing and it sounded beautiful) Elton John and George Michael - Don't let the Sun go down on Me Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder - We Didn't Know. George Michael and Mary J Blige - As There are so many but these are my favourite "old" people duets 😋 **Edit** Eminem and Rhianna duets are always good 🤘 oh and I can't count lol

Clair (Teampanda)

I Got You Babe - Sonny and Cher Under Pressure - Queen and Bowie Don't Know Much - Linda Rondstadt and Aaron Neville

Sugary Magnolia

Michael Jackson and Siedah Garrett - I Just Can't Stop Loving You is fantastic! And I really enjoy the Dutch duet 'Hoe' by Miss Montreal and Nielson. That's way poppier.

Marioni

Elephant Love Medley and Come What May from Moulin Rouge A Whole New World (OG movie version) Just a Dream (KHS, Christina Grimmie, Sam Tsui version) umm special shoutout to Evanescence Bring Me To Life from angsty pre-teen me XD

MediocreAtBest

Speaking of musical theatre and pop, the duet Mika and Ariana Grande did that interpolates Popular from Wicked is amazing, and I love the recontextualization

Sarah Faire

I love Ebony and Ivory. And Can You Feel The Love. The original is emotional and beautiful. But I also like the Timon-Pumba version from Lion King 3. It is funny and emotional too in an other way.

Kinga Konyecsik

I'll probably think of a thousand later that I would have picked instead, but off the top of my head: "Baby, It's Cold Outside" (despite the problematic theme) "When Will I Be Loved" by the Everly Brothers (though honestly, everything they do is gold) And for a more modern one, I really am partial to "No Air" by Jordin Sparks & Chris Brown. Goosebumps every time.

Shannon Kraushaar

The older I get, the more I appreciate All I Ask if You. I was 12 when the movie came out and was Not Like the Other Girls and was all in for the gothic romance Byronic hero thing. I mean, I still am, but have since realized the yikesness in that genre and in this story. I think Andrew Lloyd Webber doesn't quite understand that, the way he framed the story for the musical as opposed to the book....

Sarah Faire

Am... duets... I like a colab/duet Mika did with Mexican singer Danna Paola it's relatively recent it's called "Me, my self"... and that's all I can think of right now... jajaja there's a Duet of Luis Miguel and Sheena Easton "Me gustas tal como eres"... Natalia Lafourcade y Juan Gabriel "Ya no vivo por vivir"... hey, I got 3... Sorry, my music background is mexican, hope you enjoy them

Ave Castruita

Without much thought (I'd probably pick differently if I thought longer): -Come what may (movie version) -Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy (Bing Crosby is always a winner with me) -All I ask of you from Phantom Honorable mention: Life is fun 🙃

Margaret McLaren

I really like the Elton and Kiki duet. It should have been in the regular video except Joel had nothing to say :D

Cas
