Where should our Redwall AP be set?

As we gear up towards settling on a system and holding a *gasp* Session 0, we want your input on what real-world location/culture you'd like to see us use as an inspiration for the setting!
Keep in mind: we won't be literally setting the adventure in one of these places or cultures. Instead, we'll be using them as a jumping off point to develop our own fantasy setting! They also won't have a meaningful bearing on what beastfolk show up in the story (except for maybe the bugs). The inspiration is strictly cultural and geographical. The time period we'd be drawing from would likely be post-Roman and pre-Renaissance.
