Help Us Choose the Setting for Our New AP Series!

Let's parlay, Patrons!

It's me, your Very Neighborhood GM, bearing epic news: 3BH is planning a new AP series*!!!
I'll be GMing, Liv and Jasper will be playing, and we'll be featuring occasional guest stars! It'll be like The Cub and the Caterpillar all over again *sniff* :)

Exciting, right? Well, what'e even more exciting is that we need YOUR help to decide which setting to use! Our three options are:

1. Redwall-themed! A low-magic world of anthropomorphic animals in a human-like Medieval, not necessarily European society! We're talkin' adventure, violence, culture, religion, large-scale conflict, loss, cultural power imbalances, and more!
Inspirations for this series would include things like Redwall, Mouseguard, Game of Thrones, Berserk (mostly for the magic elements), zoology, various cultural legends from around the world, and human history.

2. Superheroes! Two costumed heroes, possibly one veteran and one newbie, fight crime in a society where superheroes are commonplace. We're talkin' colorful supervillains, creative powers, exciting battles, secret identities, self-discovery, a frank examination of the societal impact that superpowered beings might have, and more!
Inspirations for this series would include things like the Marvel and DC Universes, the web serial Worm, My Hero Academia, and Watchmen (comic and 2019 TV series).

3. Dark fantasy youths! Two kids (or young adults, we haven't decided) set out to find their way through a bizarre, kooky, mysterious, and often terrifying world. We're talkin' exploration, magic, whimsy, nightmares, discovery, an exploration of the mind using externalized and ofted surrealist fantasy elements, and more!
Inspirations for this series would include things like Oz (not the HBO show), Wonderland, Made in Abyss, Narnia, Over the Garden Wall, Die, Coraline, and Labyrinth (both Pan's and Jim Henson's).

The systems for all these series are TBD, but we're open to suggestions if you've got 'em!

*We're actually planning several new AP series, but we already know what settings we're using for the other ones because they're SEQUELS**!!! *GASP*
**One of them actually isn't a sequel, but it's still very cool!!

Thanks for the suggestion! I looked at Humblewood a while ago, and while it is very cute and looks like a fun 5e supplement, D&D as a system just isn't well-suited for what I want to do with the Redwall series. Furthermore, their range of animals has options I wouldn't offer (chickens and deer) and is significanlty limited compared to the animals I would allow (basically any small land-dwelling mammal, reptile, or amphibian, minus bats and ungulates)

The Humblewood campaign setting for 5e might be a good fit for adapting into Redwall-inspired setting. (Disclaimer: I've never played or ran a Humblewood game myself, only heard/read about it.)

Would change my vote to redwall if it meant we got detailed descriptions of how various crafts are done and materials are made…..they all sound delightful

I pick the one that I felt would be most interesting for me while NOT making me a sobbing mess while listening on the bus/at work. 👍🏾✌🏾

If you do end up going with little woodland creatures with swords, I (selfishly) think it could be a neat opportunity to do an actual play using an OSR system like Cairn or Errant. People will recommend Mausritter to you and while that will also work it’s not mechanically any more mouse-themed than other OSR games so ymmv

Can’t wait to hear your Redwall mouthwatering food descriptions.
