It's funny listening to this after WBN, cos "Breath" is the magic of that universe

If you had to make him in D&D, he'd work as a monster l, but I think if a player wanted to be him, you take a spellcasting class and have all their spells be things his body is physically doing, like Eldritch Blast or Magic Missiles could be his punch. For him to be his inspirational self, you'd want him Charisma-based, but if he was a Druid who unlimited Wildshape, perhaps you could have a lot to work with there

2024-09-17 00:14:56 +0000 UTCIt makes more sense if you're JUST thinking of kung fu movies (and not actual kung fu.) Diamond Soul is a reference to like the wizened master; he's old but not slow. The invisibility thing is I think to simulate someone moving super fast. Tongue of the Sun and Moon is a reference to dubbing... That part is all consistent (sorta), but what makes Monk so weird to me is that all of the subclasses are explicitly non-kung fu movie things. As stated, they're mostly anime references.
