April 9th Texas Nebula Photos Meetup?
Added 2024-02-15 15:58:02 +0000 UTCGood morning,
We are 53 days out from the April 8th eclipse. It's crunch time for me, as I'm going to try to put out 5-6 more videos on preparing for the eclipse between now and then.
I have a feeling several of us may be in Texas for the eclipse, so I am gauging interest in a Nebula Photos meetup the day after. We can share eclipse stories and pictures, and maybe even do some eclipse processing. If you will be in Texas on April 9th (the day after the eclipse), and would be interested in this, please let me know which city would make the most sense for you in the poll below.
Thanks, Nico

2024-02-16 14:35:24 +0000 UTCI'll be driving from Colorado in a van rental to Killeen if things go well with my camping and sketchy hotel But since I am doing a 'van-life' thing, I am totally flexible if this works out....But if the forecast is overcast or bad weather, I am going to cancel my whole trip. That said, I will bring some Colorado Whisky if it is a go.

2024-02-16 00:21:43 +0000 UTCthinking Waco for the eclipse. will fly out of DFW later in the week. Dallas would work as would Austin (family in Austin).

2024-02-15 21:28:55 +0000 UTCI will be staying in our RV just to the west of Fredericksburg, TX. It is approximately a 2 hour drive to Austin and probably similar to San Antonio. I will be staying at the RV ranch for the rest of the week in the hopes of doing some astrophotography. I agree that the big cities could be a nightmare and jammed with tourists although many folks are heading home right after the eclipse.

2024-02-15 17:26:36 +0000 UTCI'm starting in Eagle Pass, TX and working my way "north" along the center line (approximately).

2024-02-15 17:25:42 +0000 UTCI live in Houston, but will be somewhere on the centerline the day of the eclipse. I think I would prefer Austin, but any of those options would be fine for me.

2024-02-15 16:35:00 +0000 UTCI suggest we stay out of the big city. There are so many areas on the path that would be amazing. Is there any idea of the popular areas chosen by the membership? Maybe a poll where everyone is going? I would be glad to help as I live and have a business in Waxahachie, but have lived all around the state. Thanks Nico.
Well I’ll be dog gone!
