What's coming in June? June Update Announcement!

Hey everyone, it’s Villainchin!!!

Wow, after uploading Tribbie, I took a full day off to rest!

The weekend weather was great, so I feel totally recharged! (Even though I stayed inside the whole time!)

And as expected—sleep quality just hits different when not on medication!

Gooooooooooooooood!!!!

First off, I want to sincerely apologize.

I wasn’t able to finish both Hikari within May as originally planned. I’m really, really sorry about that.

Working on Tribbie brought me so much joy, but…

I didn’t expect it to take this much time.

(This isn’t the fault of the person who suggested the characters—it was my responsibility to manage the timeline better.

I should have reduced the number of scenes. It was my overconfidence.)

I thought that putting three characters into one illustration would help balance out the details across them…

but that turned out to be a huge mistake. I overestimated my capabilities!

For June

Hikari will be released for free to make up for the delay,

and just like before, we’ll have a sponsor character voting event to choose another character.

That said, I’ll be slightly reducing the content per set.

I’m truly sorry that I couldn’t keep up.

From now on, I’ll work hard to steadily grow my abilities while aiming to upload two character sets per month.

Let me elaborate on this part.

Up until now, I’ve been aiming for 3 scenes per set,

and trying to complete two sets a month.

Previously, I’d ease up a bit on the second and third scenes to stay on schedule…

but I started pushing for higher quality across all scenes—

and that led to delays, free releases, and disappointment for those who support me directly.

I'm very aware of how this affects you, and I truly regret it.

So during my break, I thought deeply about:

scene count, upload pace, and quality.

The result

I’ve decided to reduce each set to 2 scenes—

so I can maintain quality and keep a consistent upload schedule.

I insisted on doing 3 scenes because, since I don't use words,

I believed it was the best way to tell a full story through art alone.

(You know—like a beginning, middle, and end!)

But from now on, I’ll challenge myself to tell a compelling story using just 2 scenes.

So starting now, I’ll be shifting to 2-scene sets

and doing 2 sets per month—consistently and sustainably!

When I looked back at my past work:

A solo set like Plana took a bit over 20 days.

Tribbie, with three characters, took a bit over a month.

So with 2-scene sets, I believe I can handle two per month.

If I end up with extra time, I’ll use it to study and work on lighter side projects to keep growing and give back even more beautiful art!

All that’s left is to give it my all!! I’m going full throttle!

Sponsor character voting is happening again this month!

June 4th at 12:00 PM

Character suggestions from sponsors will open (likely first-come, first-served, up to 15 people!)

Mid-June: Hikari will be uploaded

End of June: The voted character will be uploaded

With the reduced scene count, I’ll be able to handle everything much more cleanly—so please look forward to it!

Lately, it's gotten soooo hot!! Like... weirdly humid too.

Feels like summer’s officially here!

I guess the season for “changing-weather colds” is over—

but now it’s time to watch out for bugs! Especially mosquitoes!! I really hate them…

Also—

I got blackout curtains that completely cover my windows!

Tried taking a short nap in the afternoon… and whoops—woke up the next day!

Without sunlight, I completely lost track of time.

And weirdly, even with all that sleep, I didn’t feel refreshed…

Sleep patterns really are important, huh?
